Vengeful Vendetta Clan have announced that the sign-ups for the very first round of Smackdown Season 2 have opened. Remember that Smackdown is all about having fun; weird and wacky settings are chosen each week, and are announced to the public just hours before the event begins. It is all about how well you can adapt, and will surely prove entertaining for those who participate (TAD, fan patch only).

The first Smackdown will be held on Saturday the 23rd of January at 19 GMT. Sign-ups close at 18:29 GMT on the day, and you must turn up before 18:30 GMT so you can check in (check in opens at 18 GMT). Having trouble figuring out what time that will be for you? Click here for detailed information on the time that check in opens. You'll find a dedicated chat room for Smackdown open at that time on ESO, from where you'll receive further instructions on how to participate.

You can find the rules here. Read them carefully. This season will of course be played on the newest Fan Patch available

If you're intending to sign up, please make sure you acknowledge the season will last a number of weeks and you are required to schedule weekly and do your best to get a game played every week, or keep in good communication with the admins/other players on RTS-League website. Clans that drop out of any season will excluded from the following seasons.

_V_V_ Smackdown Tournament

That's right everyone, _V_V_ Clan is proud to announce the return of Smackdown Tournaments.

As in tradition with previous Smackdown Tournaments, each tournament will last one day, most likely on a Sunday, with a predetermined set of unique rules. The first of these tournaments will begin shortly and each following tournament will occur in two week intervals, with one week of sign-ups and a check-in time prior to the beginning of the tournament. The recorded games will be posted here on AgeSanctuary and will be moderated and ran by members of the _V_V_ Clan.

A big thanks to MFO (mrfixitonline.com), which ran Smackdown years ago for AoC and AgeSanctuary which ran it for AoE previously.

Sign-ups for the First Smackdown Tournament will begin shortly, with the rules being announced in the sign-up topic.

Introducing [hope] Clan's AOE3 World Series!

We're at it again folks; and this time we are proud to present to you [hope] Clan's AOE3 World Series! This is going to be a somewhat special tournament, and is a celebration of the AOE3 community who have stuck by and continue to enjoy the game. With this in mind, the organisers have worked hard to create a tournament which is sure to be thoroughly enjoyable for all the players involved; and with a prize pool of $1,500, it will no doubt be rewarding too! The tournament will feature new ideas, from region-based group leagues for efficient early round scheduling; to 2 independant final 32-player knockout tournaments, both of which will include the ever-popular loser brackets employed in the successful Last Man Standing tournament.

Further good news follows, as we are closely working with our contributors and donators to plan another series of tournaments to follow [hope] Clan's AOE3 World Series. In fact, we are in the early development stage of another 3 tournaments this year, all of which will include the same high level of generous prizes up for grabs. 2010 is certainly looking bright for AOE3!

Signups, with tournament rules and regulations, will follow the release of TAD Fan Patch 1.2. Stay sharp!

TAD Fan Patch 1.1a

TAD Fan Patch 1.1a has just been released. It allows you to access ESO using the fan patch after you have upgraded to the new official Robot Entertainment patch. This patch is merely a compatibility update. The balance, bug, and map changes in this patch are exactly the same as those found in TAD Fan Patch 1.1. If you haven't tried the fan patch out yet, you can check out what we included in TAD Fan Patch 1.1 here.

AoE3 on N-Gage

Age of Empires 3 is now available on the N-Gage. It is a prequel to the events in the PC version of the game, with the player tasked to defend Malta in the year 1565 against the besieging Ottoman Empire.

You can buy it or download a trial version at www.n-gage.com. In addition, they have developed a useful game guide at www.ageofempiresgameguide.com.

AoE3 Simple Elo Ladders

Following the recent news that Elorating.com would be closing down, the Japanese community have been developing a new rating ladder site of their own. Matsujun announced the launch of this new service on our forums today, stating that the site is still in development and may contain some bugs. If you find any, please report them here.

AoE3 Simple Elo Ladders

They started collecting game data from the 4th of May onwards, and will not be carrying over any data from Elorating.com. That means everybody starts from scratch, which while not ideal is better than having no ladders at all!

New year brought us new champions and after some time, also a season with more than two divisions:

Division 1 - =SMR=, _V_V_, AzArK, TΣ, N3O, _ITC_ - staffed by Biobob
Division 2 - hope, ZwerG, PGL, SpNz, AvJoe, RiFT - staffed by Black Adder
Division 3 - |2k|, NerVe, てこっつ, -ArC_, Glos - staffed by Terminator

Operator logins for the new clans or new operators have already been sent out, check your PMs. The few exceptions will be handled soon.

Please update your roster and start scheduling as soon as possible.

You can find the league standings at this link or at the top of the menu on the right side of the main page. Schedules can be seen after clicking on the respective division's title.
